Jay’s Moving Saskatchewan supports the Multiple Sclerosis Society
Jay’s Moving Saskatchewan is pleased to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, an organization which strives to be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and helping people affected by MS enjoy a better quality of life.
Jay's provides essential transportation and support services for a number of MS Society events and fundraisers including:
- The Rona MS Bike Tour - a national event during which cyclists participate in a one or two day ride through rural areas to raise funds to help end MS. The first MS Bike Tours in Canada took place in August 1989. Jay’s Moving was there to help and we remain committed to this important fundraiser.
- The MS WALK - a family oriented, community-supported event that makes a difference in the lives of Canadians living with MS. The national MS WALK is the MS Society's largest pledge-based fundraising event with over 70,000 participants and volunteers taking part in 160 locations across Canada.
- MS Carnation Campaign – Each year during the month of May (designated MS Awareness month) volunteers raise funds by selling bouquets of carnations. Money raised supports the services provided to individuals and families living with multiple sclerosis.
In 2001 the MS Society created the “Most Inspirational Volunteer Award” in memory of longtime volunteer Don Holman from Jay’s Regina Moving & Storage. This award is given out at both the North and South Bike Tours each year and recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond volunteering for the MS Society at the bike tour. The Don Holman award is usually given to long standing volunteers and is presented by a member of the Jay’s crew at the bike tour.
Jay’s Moving Saskatchewan is proud to give back to the community by supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada in the search for a cure and to help people living with MS.
